Putin: Modern weapons account for 95% of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces
During a Russian Ministry of Defense Collegium meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that 189 settlements have been liberated this year in the special military operation zone. According to Putin, the size of the Russian Armed Forces has been increased to 1.5 million personnel. He also noted that serial production of the Oreshnik system will soon begin, and that Russia’s strategic nuclear forces now have a 95% share of modern weaponry.
Putin added that the military-political situation in the world remains difficult and unstable, stating that the West never ceases its attempts to impose its dominance. He noted that Russia adheres to a policy of nuclear deterrence, but the country may abandon its self-imposed restrictions on deploying medium- and short-range nuclear missiles if the United States deploys such weapons.
