EU begins suspending visa-free regime for Georgian diplomatic passport holders
The Georgian service of Radio Liberty reports that a procedure has been initiated at a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council to suspend the visa-free regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports.
The initiative was adopted by a majority vote.
As reported, the European Commission has already begun work on this issue and will present an official document in the coming days.
According to Politico, the decision was lobbied for by Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. However, Hungary and Slovakia are opposed to the decision.
