Russia and Iran emphasize 3+3 platform’s further development importance

Russian-Iranian intergovernmental consultations were held in Moscow at the level of the foreign ministers of the two countries. The parties discussed issues related to Central Asia and the South Caucasus, as well as the situation in Ukraine.

In reviewing the situation in the South Caucasus, the importance of the further development of the 3+3 regional cooperation platform was emphasized.

During discussions on Central Asia, the significance of ensuring stability in the region and the great potential for cooperation with its states were highlighted.

The parties also addressed several pressing issues on the bilateral agenda, including the timeline for upcoming intergovernmental contacts.
