Russia’s Foreign Ministry: Kirillov’s assassination is a consequence of encouragement of Kyiv’s military crimes
The assassination of Igor Kirillov, Russia’s Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops Chief, is a result of the West’s encouragement of military crimes committed by Kyiv, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
Zakharova noted that yet another act of terrorism had occurred, describing it as a planned assassination, with Gen. Igor Kirillov and his assistant being killed near a residential building at a time when people were heading to work and children were on their way to school and kindergarten.
“The terror act carried out in Moscow has become a continuation and escalation of the Western encouragement of the Kyiv regime’s military crimes, which they have been carrying out over all these years,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram.
She also pointed out that two and a half years ago, Kirillov had been listed on the Ukrainian Mirotvorets website, which features the names of many other victims of the Kyiv regime.
“For several years now, we have been raising alarms about this. But the satellites of the U.S. remain silent. Meanwhile, the Mirotvorets website is supported by the U.S., just as websites of terrorists operating in the North Caucasus were once hosted in Northern Europe,” Zakharova noted.
To remind, around 6:00 a.m. on Dec. 17, an explosion occurred near a residential building in Moscow, resulting in the deaths of Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov and his assistant, Ilya Polikarpov.
