Pashinyan’s ‘Blacklist’: Mihranyan planning to sue Armenian prime minister
Andranik Mihranyan, a political scientist residing in Russia—whose entry into Armenia has been banned—told NEWS.ru that he intends to sue Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for violating his rights. Mihranyan claims that Pashinyan has established personal rule and tyranny in the republic.
“This is absolute arbitrariness. The decision to ban my entry is a blatant violation of my fundamental rights. I am considering filing a lawsuit against this arbitrariness, as Pashinyan has, in fact, established his personal rule and tyranny there. He is a madman, doing whatever he wants. No one can oppose him because he imprisons people within the country and denies entry to people from abroad to prevent the truth or alternative viewpoints from being heard in Armenia,” Mihranyan stated.
Commenting on the sanctions against Mihranyan, journalist Margarita Simonyan, whose entry into Armenia has been banned as well, referred to Pashinyan as a Turkish “effendi.”
She noted that the Armenian prime minister recently changed his image by shaving his beard. “I am also banned from entering Armenia. The effendi is quite a funny guy, both with and without a beard,” Simonyan said.
Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma for the CIS and Relations with Russian Nationals Abroad, expressed confidence that the decision to include individuals on the blacklist rests personally with Pashinyan.
According to him, Pashinyan and his circle “fear our presence and our words.” They think in the spirit of Louis XIV: “I am the state.” Zatulin stated that they personally identify the interests of Armenia with their own.
