Canadian MPs demand Trudeau’s resignation
More than a third of the MPs of Liberal Party of Canada have called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign as party leader, CBC writes, referring to its sources.
“More than 50 Liberal MPs came to a consensus that Justin Trudeau needs to step down as party leader during a meeting of the party’s largest regional caucus,” the sources said.
As reported, only 21 MPs from the party led by Trudeau have publicly expressed this opinion.
According to information posted on the House of Commons website, there are 153 Liberal Party members sitting in the Canadian Parliament.
Jagmeet Singh, Leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party, had previously called for Trudeau to resign, saying his government was incapable of addressing the major challenges facing the country.
Earlier, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump suggested that Canada become the 51st state of the United States.
