Kremlin expects COVID not to hinder Pashinyan’s participation in EAEU summit via video conference
The Kremlin anticipates that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was unable to attend the CIS informal summit in Saint Petersburg due to a positive COVID test, will participate in the EAEU summit via video conference, Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said.
To remind, an annual pre-New Year informal meeting of the heads of CIS countries will be held in Saint Petersburg on Dec. 25 to summarize the results of joint efforts and identify key areas for further cooperation.
The Armenian prime minister was also expected to attend the meeting. However, Pashinyan said in a Facebook post that he would not attend the CIS informal meeting due to a positive COVID test. A decision regarding his participation in the EAEU summit has not yet been made.
