Konstantin ZatuliThere has never been and will never be a better Armenian prime minister for Azerbaijan than Pashinyan

In an interview with Alpha News, Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma for the CIS and Relations with Russian Nationals Abroad, commented on Armenian-Russian relations and the negotiation process on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“Pashinyan, in any case, did not go to Russia, preferring a remote conversation. He and his government have been taking various steps to prove that they want to break away from Russia and move toward the West. I think we are unlikely to achieve anything if we seek loyalty from our ally Armenia as long as Pashinyan is at the helm of the country. While dismantling the military-political alliance with Russia, he will keep up with his attempts to maintain economic ties to gain benefits. We are not yet making demands on the Armenian government, but I do not think this will last forever, as it is already clear that this government is heading in a different direction,” Zatulin said.
