State of emergency level 2 declared in Glendale with mayor issuing evacuation guidelines
A Level 2 state of emergency has been declared in Glendale. Mayor Elen Asatryan shared information on her Facebook page regarding the situation created by fires, affecting the city with its large Armenian population.
Strong winds are expected until the afternoon of Jan. 15, further increasing the risk of rapid fire spread.
“Unfortunately, our city has suffered significant damage; there are downed power lines, fallen trees, and debris. Crews are working tirelessly to restore electricity as quickly and safely as possible,” Asatryan stated.
