Zakharova: The EU Mission in Armenia is a geopolitical project
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on Russia’s negative stance regarding the EU Mission in Armenia, calling it a “semi-military presence of the EU.”
“The anti-Russian, anti-Azerbaijani, and anti-Iranian objectives of this mission are evident, and NATO countries are also joining in. It is clear that this is a geopolitical project used to strengthen the collective West’s presence in the region. The West’s goal is also well known: to destabilize the region,” Zakharova said, noting that clashes at the border have been occurring regularly and will continue to do so. She was interested as to why the EU does not take Baku’s opinion into account. According to her, the EU and NATO are not interested in the interests of the Armenian people.
