Ambassador: Russia-Iran agreement will impact the regional security cooperation
The comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between Russia and Iran will influence the cooperation of the two countries in the field of security in the Middle East, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said.
“Undoubtedly, it will have an impact, as both Iran and Russia are large and strong countries in the region. Therefore, it is natural that we have concentrated and will continue to concentrate all our efforts with Russia to maintain stability and security in the region,” the ambassador said.
He noted that extra-regional powers in Western Asia consider themselves responsible for security, yet it is them who have become the cause of destabilization as they act in their own interests without regard for what is beneficial for the region.
“Thus, this agreement also addresses areas such as combating global unipolarity, defending multipolarity, and cooperation at regional and international levels,” the diplomat added.
