Blinken orders removal of journalists who interrupted his speech
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken instructed the removal of two journalists from the briefing room during a press briefing dedicated to the end of his term, following the journalists’ dissent regarding the politician’s statements on the situation in Gaza.
Journalist Max Blumenthal interrupted Blinken’s speech, stating: “Three hundred journalists have been killed by your bombs in Gaza. You had an agreement in May; we all knew about it. Tony, you didn’t stop the strikes. Why did you let my friends be killed?”
Under Blinken’s orders, police also removed journalist Sam Husseini from the briefing room.
“I was sitting here calmly, and now two or three people are holding me back, yet you talk about press freedom,” one of the journalists said.
