Arman Tatoyan: The Azerbaijani authorities will use the ‘trials’ regarding our compatriots to establish itself at the expense of the dignity of the Armenian people, to degrade our national consciousness

Former Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan wrote:

“The Azerbaijani authorities will use the ‘trials’ regarding Ruben Vardanyan, Bako Sahakyan and our other compatriots to establish itself at the expense of the dignity of the Armenian people, to degrade our national consciousness, and to deepen the tension and division among us.

Azerbaijani authorities need these ‘trials’ to legitimize its false political theses, to cleanse itself of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh, and to create grounds for aggression against Armenia.

Therefore, we should not allow the Azerbaijani propaganda to spread in our society.

We must remember that our compatriots are hostages in Azerbaijani prisons, and all their testimonies are extracted by subjecting them to inhumane torture and “reinforced” with artificial stories.

These ‘trials’ are our national tragedy.”
