Genesis Armenia: This is nothing but a betrayal of Armenian historical heritage
The statement made in Zurich by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the motives behind the Armenian Genocide is not only contradictory, anti-scientific, and anti-civilizational, but also one of the most ignorant, most shameful and most humiliating episodes of Armenian and world history. This is a strong blow to the political struggle of the Armenian people, a challenge to the entire civilized world, which has studied, researched, concluded, recognized and condemned the undeniable truth of the Armenian Genocide in thousands of volumes, Genesis Armenia think tank/foundation said in a statement.
“As the international community collectively fights against crimes against humanity, such statements from Nikol Pashinyan not only deny the Armenian people’s right to justice, undermine the legal-political and security foundations of the Armenian statehood, but also violate the values of global history and civilization. Pashinyan, in fact, by refraining to talk about the complete and indisputable complicity and responsibility of the Turkish authorities in the genocide, is attempting to revise history, which the civilized world has clearly condemned.
Pashinyan is trying to rewrite world history in order to justify or forget the crimes committed by the Ottoman Empire and its successor, the Republic of Turkey. This is nothing more than a betrayal of the Armenian historical heritage, the memory of the fallen generations, and the values of human civilization, yet another proof that the current Armenian administration serves the agenda of the Turkish-Azerbaijani denialist tandem and implements this precondition as a manifestation of goodwill in anticipation of the apparent reconciliation and normalization of relations with Ankara and Baku.
It is shameful that the man in the driving seat of the Republic of Armenia discusses the issue of responsibility for the Armenian Genocide and makes the attempt to revise history in a country that, back in 2006, sentenced and fined the well-known Turkish denialist and nationalist Doğu Perinçek for disputing the fact of the Armenian Genocide; but even more shameful is the passive behavior and self-serving silence of the representatives of the Swiss Armenian community on this issue, except for certain organizations and figures who have consistently worked on the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the internationalization and condemnation of the issue of the deprivation of the people of Artsakh of their homeland, and the restoration of the rights of Armenians.
According to international law, genocide is recognized as a crime against humanity, and its denial or attempts to forget it are seen as immoral historical falsifications and crimes.
Genesis Armenia think tank/foundation reiterates its steadfast commitment to the line, ideology and values it has adopted and the struggle for the restoration of historical truth and justice,” reads the statement.
