Genesis Armenia: The army is us, where our sons serve; We must protect it as the apple of our eye
On the occasion of Army Day, Genesis Armenia think tank/foundation has issued a message:
“Our army, the guarantee of our independent statehood, was formed naturally in the crucible of war, during years of fighting against an enemy many times its superior, through the unification of self-defense volunteer units—units that bore names such as ‘Arabo’, ‘Chaush’, ‘Tigran the Great’, ‘Vrezh’, and others, while their positions were named after places symbolizing Western Armenia, like Mush, Sipan, etc.
This is the army that has achieved a remarkable balance of victory against the enemy in the first 1992-1994 war unleashed by the enemy and the four-day war in 2016, and bravely resisted the armies of several hostile states and terrorists in Artsakh and along the borders of the Republic of Armenia during the 44-day war in 2020.
Today, our army needs ideological, disciplinary, psychological, and military-technical strengthening.
The army is us, where our sons serve; we must protect it as the apple of our eye, support it, and not strike at the only accomplished institution for safeguarding our security, no matter how disputable the leaders who have mistakenly found themselves at the helm of it and the country may be. The current situation is solely a result of political machinations. We are confident that we will quickly get back on our feet, and the victorious glory of the Armenian army will soar again.
Long live the Armenian army! We extend our prayers in memory of the thousands of Armenian sons who fell in the battles for the defense of the homeland.”
