Peskov refuses to comment on reports of Assad’s extradition
Spokesperson for Russian President Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on reports regarding the extradition of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the request of Damascus.
Peskov was asked to comment on a report from the Syrian SANA news agency, which stated that the new Syrian authorities have sought compensation from Russia “to restore trust,” demanding Assad’s extradition.
“No, I will not comment on that,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.
Reuters reported that the new Syrian leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, requested the extradition of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during a meeting with the Russian deputy foreign minister.
