Syrian president pledges control over entire country

In an inaugural address, Ahmed al-Sharaa, President of Syria’s transitional government, talked about efforts to form a transitional government and pledged to establish control over the entire country, kommersant.ru writes.

“In the upcoming period, we will focus on addressing several priority issues, including the completion of the process of restoring Syria’s territorial integrity under one authority over one land. We will try to establish a transitional government that represents all Syrians, including women and youth,” Al-Sharaa stated.

He noted that the government will be responsible for creating new state institutions in Syria until the phase of free and fair elections, ensuring that the political process is carried out under the rule of law.
