Trump signs order for maximum pressure on Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday regarding the maximum pressure campaign against Iran, but expressed hope that the U.S. would not have to use it frequently, the White House press service reports.

“The U.S. president has signed two executive orders, the first concerning the resumption of maximum pressure on Iran,” reporters say.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had announced that the U.S. should strengthen its pressure on Iran in connection with Tehran’s alleged attempts to develop nuclear weapons.
