Pashinyan will soon change his shoes and call Putin: Highlights from Robert Kocharyan’s interview
In response to the 2019 OSCE Minsk Group proposals, Nikol Pashinyan declared that he is “the main character of the film”, stating that “Artsakh is Armenia, period!” This was essentially a call to war; Pashinyan put himself in the place of the Caucasian “Rambo.” After the war, “Rambo” transformed into “Gikor”.
The art of diplomacy is not about breaking down walls with a cast-iron head but about finding a door in the wall.
Pashinyan will soon change his shoes and call Putin.
I wasn’t speaking; they were talking about me, and even quite often about my shadow—mainly those who wanted me not to speak. That was the situation; we have what we have, and today, despite all my efforts, there is a large mass waiting for me to speak. This is one of the reasons I don’t speak. The second reason was that for a moment I thought, maybe I had better leave the prime minister alone with his electorate. I thought it would be useful for him to explain to 600,000 prime ministers why their lives are getting worse, why the government is getting into their pockets, why the government has sunk into corruption, and why their poverty resides in their minds while the wealth of the ruling party is in their safes.
It is evident that “the state of deceit” has begun to talk gibberish. “The state of deceit” is not my term; one of you has been quite actively using that term recently. Why have I decided to hold a press conference now? A lot is changing in the world; there are quite interesting and fateful developments happening—in my impression. President Trump is directly dismantling the neoliberal world order and the tools through which that ideology was promoted worldwide. This will truly bring about significant changes if they are consistent in their actions. My impression is that he is quite resolute. And in this regard, we have entered a period that will undoubtedly have a significant component of instability, but with positive expectations.
