Lavrov: There can be no talk of territorial concessions for Ukraine in the resolution process

During the resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, there can be no talk of territorial concessions for Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated.

“The leadership of the Soviet Union made such concessions during the formation of the USSR. Do you want certain reflections to arise during the negotiation process regarding the possibility of conceding some territories? How can we concede—with Russian residents, or without people, just with rare earth metals?” Lavrov said.

He noted that U.S. representatives, who are currently discussing how to address the Ukrainian crisis—and it is still unclear who among them is authorized by President Trump to speak on behalf of the Washington administration on this matter—are also talking about compromises.
