Peskov: Moscow values good relations with Iran and plans to develop them comprehensively

The start of Russian-American talks will not affect further cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told IRNA news agency.

“The process of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran is in no way connected to Russian-American relations,” Peskov responded. He noted that Moscow is ready to assist Tehran in resolving issues related to its nuclear program.

“Moscow attaches great significance to good relations with Iran and aims to develop them comprehensively, including providing support for resolving major issues, such as the nuclear program,” Peskov stated. He added that matters concerning Iran’s nuclear program should be addressed through negotiations.

“We are sure that if there is political will from all participants in the negotiation process, the issue of Iran’s nuclear program can and should be resolved diplomatically,” Peskov noted.
