Russian deputy foreign minister announces upcoming Russia-US meeting

A high-level meeting between Russian and U.S. officials is set to take place within the next two weeks, where both sides will discuss bilateral relations. This meeting will precede consultations between deputy foreign ministers, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told RIA Novosti.

“There is a fundamental agreement to hold comprehensive consultations. We are awaiting confirmation on who will represent the American side at this level. We have confirmed to the Americans our readiness to start this work as soon as possible. This meeting will precede consultations at the deputy foreign minister level,” Ryabkov stated.

According to the diplomat, the meeting will take place in a third country, with the exact location still being negotiated.
