Speaker of Iran’s Parliament: The 3+3 platform will contribute to peace and stability in the South Caucasus

Speaker of Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has stated that Tehran fully supports the 3+3 platform, which will contribute to peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

Speaker of Azerbaijan’s National Assembly (Milli Majlis) Sahiba Gafarova met with her Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who is in Baku to participate in the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. The parties discussed issues related to interstate relations and cooperation in international parliamentary organizations, as well as today’s new opportunities and prospects in the South Caucasus region.

In this context, Ghalibaf reaffirmed Iran’s full support for the 3+3 format, expressing confidence that it will foster regional peace, stability, and political and economic cooperation. It was also noted that the involvement of external actors in the region is unacceptable.

Earlier, the Iranian parliamentary delegation was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
