Kaja Kallas: EU supports Zelenskyy’s decision to forgo elections

The European Union supports Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his decision to forgo elections, Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said.

According to Kallas, there is “no need for elections” during hostilities.

“In elections, we fight against each other, but here [in Ukraine] the situation is such that there is an external enemy, and we must direct all our efforts against it,” she said.

The head of European diplomacy also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump’s statements “broadly reflect Russian narratives.”
