Ankara to propose that Tbilisi join regional 3+3 platform
During negotiations in Ankara with his Georgian counterpart Maka Bochorishvili, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will announce the Turkish side’s expectations for Georgia to join the 3+3 regional cooperation platform, a source from the Turkish Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.
“On Feb. 26, 2025, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili will visit our country. Minister Hakan Fidan expects to announce Ankara’s firm support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the peaceful resolution of the conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and will express his expectations regarding Georgia’s joining the upcoming 3+3 regional cooperation platform,” the news agency’s interlocutor noted.
Earlier, a member of the ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party, Levan Machavariani, stated that Georgia finds the 3+3 format for negotiations around the South Caucasus unacceptable due to Russia’s participation.
