British prime minister calls on US for security guarantees to Ukraine

U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reiterated his call for a U.S. security guarantee in Ukraine to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin from invading again, the BBC writes.

To remind, the U.K. prime minister and the U.S. president will meet at the White House today, with Ukraine the focal point of their talks.

In this regard, Trump has said it’s up to Europe to provide security guarantees for Ukraine and that there will be no assurance of Washington’s involvement.

He also confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the Oval Office on Friday to sign a “very big” agreement on sharing Ukraine’s mineral resources.
