
Macron: Europe must rediscover the taste of risk, ambition, and power
French President Emmanuel Macron has called on Europeans to abandon their vassal dependence on the United States. “I can see that many people in Europe say we must be polite to the U.S. We should be polite, but we must also defend who we are. The answer is not to comply. I am against ‘happy vassalage,'” the president’s words were quoted by AFP. Macron noted that Europe must transform itself “to regain its strength.”

On Feb. 10, Trump ordered a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports. These tariffs are expected to take effect on March 12. The decision pertains to supplies from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union, Mexico, South Korea, and Japan.
