Turkey comments on Russia-US negotiations in Istanbul

Turkey expects that the Russia-U.S. negotiations aimed at normalizing relations between Moscow and Washington will become intensive and yield concrete results, a senior diplomatic source in Ankara told RIA Novosti.

“We expect that they [negotiations] will be intensive and will bring concrete results that will have a positive impact on global security,” the agency’s source said.

To remind, on Feb. 27, a meeting took place in Istanbul between representatives of Russia and the United States. The negotiations lasted nearly six and a half hours; issues related to the resumption of operations of the embassies and consulates of the two countries were discussed.
