Iran’s vice president Javad Zarif resigns
I hope my resignation will remove the excuses for obstructing the will of the people and the success of the government, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Vice President for Strategic Affairs, said in an X post.
“Over the past 40 years, I have endured numerous insults and slanders for my modest role in advancing national interests, from the end of the imposed war to the resolution of the nuclear issue. I have also been pursued by a flow of lies and distortions to ensure that the country’s interests are not harmed. Yesterday, I attended a meeting at the invitation of the esteemed head of the judicial authority. During that meeting, he spoke about the situation in the country and suggested returning to the university to prevent further pressure on the government. I immediately agreed,” Javad Zarif noted.
To remind, Iranian media had reported on Zarif’s resignation earlier.
