Turkey’s Foreign Ministry: European leaders have disagreements regarding the assessment of Washington’s recent actions
The key topic of the meeting in London regarding the Ukrainian settlement was the U.S. stance, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated in an interview with Anadolu Agency.
Fidan noted that such consultations are planned to be held every two to three weeks to discuss the situation quickly.
“We expect an immediate ceasefire, which will be followed by a transition to sustainable peace. Different countries have different views on the conditions of this process,” Fidan said, adding that the format of the meetings will become more frequent compared to the previous six-month or two-month intervals.
The Turkish foreign minister pointed out that there are disagreements among European leaders regarding the assessment of Washington’s recent actions.
“We are analyzing the prospects for a peace agreement and the potential establishment of a new security architecture in Europe. Turkey is ready to contribute to both diplomatic resolution and the strengthening of EU stability,” Fidan stated.
