Turkey’s ambassador summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry
Turkish Ambassador to Iran Hicabi Kırlangıç has been summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry due to accusations made by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan against Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a Telegram post.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Fidan demanded that Iran change its regional policies, noting that “if Iran does not want people to throw stones at it, it should not throw them at others.”
Addressing the Turkish diplomat, the director general for Mediterranean and Eastern European Affairs at Iran’s Foreign Ministry said: “Considering the common interests of our countries and the complex situation in the region, it is necessary to avoid baseless statements and unrealistic analyses that could lead to disagreements and tensions in bilateral relations.”
