Zelenskyy confirms US talks will take place on Monday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that negotiations between Ukrainian and U.S. delegations will be held next week in Saudi Arabia. The sides will discuss cooperation between the two countries to establish peace. Zelenskyy said this in Brussels during an EU summit, where European leaders decided to significantly strengthen the continent’s security in light of Russian aggression, the BBC reports.

Zelenskyy wrote on social media that he will depart for Saudi Arabia on Monday, where he will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “After that, my team will remain in Saudi Arabia to work with our American partners,” Zelenskyy added.

Previously, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced that the U.S. and Ukraine would discuss in Riyadh the possibility of a six-month ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
