Iran denies Trump’s statement

Iran has not received any letter from the United States, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said during a weekly press conference.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and added that he would prefer to reach an agreement with Tehran regarding Iran’s nuclear program rather than attempt to resolve the issue through military means.

“No. No letter has been received,” Baghaei was quoted by the IRNA agency in response to a journalist’s question about whether Iran had received a letter from the U.S. and, if so, what its content was.
