Bayramov complains to Kazakh counterpart about Armenia’s stance in Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process
As part of an official visit to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtileu.
The sides discussed issues related to the strategic partnership between the two countries, the prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the regional and international situation. They exchanged views on the political, economic, trade, transport, and humanitarian aspects of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan strategic partnership. The agenda also included issues of cooperation within regional and international organizations.
According to information from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the Kazakh side was informed about the situation in the region following the conflict, as well as the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The continuous support of the Kazakh side for the peace process was highly valued. It was also noted that despite the successes achieved during the bilateral negotiations on the draft peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, “the fundamental issue remains the preservation of territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia” and “the Armenian side’s stance on the maintenance of the Minsk Group.”
At the end of the meeting, the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan signed an action plan for 2025-2026.
