Le Figaro: Ruben Vardanyan appears emaciated in Baku
The former leader of Nagorno-Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan, is reportedly growing emaciated in Baku, Le Figaro writes.
“The former head of the government of Artsakh—who is now held captive—has declared a hunger strike in protest against what he describes as the mockery of the judicial process. A photo released by Azerbaijani media shows him in a severely emaciated state.
“For those who remember the cheerful face of Ruben Vardanyan, well-known in Artsakh, Armenia, and beyond, it is hard to remain indifferent to the photo of the prisoner of war,” the publication states.
