Peskov: The liberation operation in the Kursk region has entered its final stage

The command of the North troops has reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the operation to liberate the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces has entered its final stage, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

Putin visited one of the command posts in the Kursk region the day before. He has tasked the military with completely defeating the Ukrainian Armed Forces as soon as possible and establishing a security zone in the region.

The mass attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region began on Aug. 6, 2024. A federal emergency regime has been imposed in the region. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kyiv has lost more than 66,810 servicemen since the start of military operations in the direction of Kursk.
