Yemen refuses to negotiate with US

The Houthis, controlling northern Yemen, have no intention of negotiating with the U.S. until Washington responds to the bombing of Yemeni territory, Houthi Political Bureau member Khuzam al-Asad told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, some Arab media outlets reported that the Houthis were allegedly engaged in talks with the U.S. following massive airstrikes on Yemen from Saturday night into Sunday.

According to the Houthi Health Ministry, the U.S. strikes on various northern and central provinces killed 31 people, including ten children and women, while 101 others were injured.

“Yemen has been subjected to brutal American aggression, during which civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in several cities were targeted,” al-Asad stated, adding that thus the U.S. is attempting to deter Yemen from supporting the besieged residents of Gaza.

Al-Asad noted that the U.S. must receive a military response from Yemen.
