Pentagon responds to reports of possible transfer of military equipment to Armenia

The U.S. Department of Defense has declined to comment on information regarding the potential transfer of military equipment to Armenia, as reported by the Russian news agency RT, officials from the U.S. Department of Defense said in response to a question from Armenpress.

“The U.S. highly values its relationship with Armenia. The Department of Defense does not comment on the movement of military equipment for operational security reasons,” the U.S. Department of Defense reports.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has not yet come up with an official response.

Earlier, the Russian news agency RT reported that the U.S. Army’s logistics command plans to transfer military equipment and various supplies from the Dülmen military base in Germany to the Zar training ground in Armenia for potential Armenian-American joint exercises.

According to the published information, the transfer of equipment is scheduled from July 16 to Aug. 7, with a return to Germany planned between Aug. 21 and Sept. 20.

As noted, the equipment will be transported through Georgian territory, as the transport route cannot go through Russia, Turkey, or Azerbaijan due to diplomatic clearance difficulties.
