Rasmussen: Armenia’s democratic allies must make clear to Azerbaijan that the time has come to agree on a sustainable peace agreement
Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Founder and Chairman of the international political consulting firm Rasmussen Global and former NATO Secretary General, is currently in Armenia. In a Facebook post, Rasmussen stated: “Began my visit to Armenia with ambassadors from the G7 and European Union. Armenia’s democratic allies must make clear to Azerbaijan: the time has come to agree a sustainable peace with Armenia.”
To remind, on March 13, Armenia and Azerbaijan announced that they had completed negotiations on the text of a peace treaty. However, shortly after the statements about the full readiness of the text of the agreement on “Establishing Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan”, Azerbaijan began spreading news about shootings at the border, which the Armenian side has denied.
