Peskov: Putin gave Trump a personal gift
Moscow and Washington share a common desire to resolve the situation in Ukraine, but there are still many technical issues to address, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump’s statements about the clarity of “the outlines of a future deal.”
“In fact, it is about the countries’ willingness and readiness to move toward a peaceful resolution. There is indeed a mutual understanding here,” Peskov said.
He confirmed that the Black Sea initiative and the safety of navigation in the Black Sea will be the main topics of today’s discussions in Riyadh.
Peskov also commented on reports that the Russian president gifted Trump a portrait of the American leader painted by a Russian artist. “The only thing I can say is that this was absolutely a personal gift that the president gave to his American counterpart,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.
