I do not wish to comment on the statement of that individual, as it is beyond his authority: Zakharova on Alen Simonyan
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on Alen Simonyan’s statement that the issue of returning to the November 9 trilateral document regarding the unblocking of communication routes between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not being discussed. Zakharova noted that this matter is not being handled by the mentioned politician, but rather by someone else.
She noted that the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia have instructed their deputy prime ministers to address the unblocking of transportation links in the South Caucasus. Zakharova advised the journalist to contact the person in Armenia who is responsible for this.
“I do not wish to comment on the statement of that individual, as it is beyond his authority,” Zakharova said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson pointed out that a trilateral working group has been established to resolve this important issue, within which significant work has been carried out. “We can see the destructive influence of Western countries, and we also observe that the stance of the Armenian authorities sometimes, and not infrequently, raises questions for us. Due to these two factors, the work of the group has come to a standstill. We believe that restoring the group’s work will not only contribute to the restoration of the transport and logistics system in the South Caucasus but will also ensure further socio-economic development for both Armenia and the entire region,” Zakharova stated.
