Khamenei responds to Trump’s letter
Iran has officially responded to a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump addressed to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei. The letter was delivered through the mediation of Oman, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
“An official response to Trump’s letter was sent yesterday through appropriate mediation,” Araghchi said in an interview with the news agency IRNA.
According to Araghchi, the response contains two documents. The first outlines Tehran’s views on the current global situation, while the second offers a thorough analysis and commentary on the points made in Trump’s letter.
To remind, on March 7, Trump wrote on his Truth Social page that he had sent a message to Khamenei, proposing negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program. In response to the U.S. president’s statement, Iran’s supreme leader stated that his country would not engage in dialogue with the U.S., as Washington is only concerned with its own interests.
