Zourabichvili announces ‘new wave’ of protests in Georgia

Former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has announced that opposition protests will begin “with new strength” across the republic. Her remarks were reported by Formula TV.

On April 1, she spoke before Parliament, where supporters of the opposition had gathered.

“Yesterday’s protest gives us hope and confirms that the government was unable to disperse it. The protest exists, and when the opportunity arises, it will manifest even stronger,” Zourabichvili stated.

Protests in Georgia have been taking place since October 2024. Opposition parties and Zourabichvili disagree with the results of the parliamentary elections, in which the ruling Georgian Dream party emerged victorious.
