No troop buildups on the front line, gunfire reported as random, deputy defense minister says

We work and provide information as quickly and objectively as possible. At the moment, the situation on the border is relatively stable, the shootings you point out, which sometimes occur, are not aimed at particular targets, and are few, Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan told the press.

Sargsyan noted that there is no contradiction between the information he provided and that of their press service.

When asked about troop buildups at the border, the deputy minister responded, “If the information we provided is not credible to you, and you prefer to believe videos, then I think you should not ask me anything. The armed forces are performing their duties within their authority. The top priority is security. At this moment, the situation on the front line is relatively stable, and if any issues arise, we will immediately provide information.”

Regarding the Armenian-Iranian military exercises, the deputy minister stated that appropriate information has been given on that matter.

While Arman Sargsyan was answering the questions of reporters and clearly stating that the situation at the border is relatively stable, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense reported that around 10:20 p.m. on April 13, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired in the direction of the village of Khndzoresk in the Syunik region, damaging the village’s cultural house. There were no casualties.
