Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has stated that Russia welcomes the fact of indirect negotiations in Oman between the U.S. and Iran regarding the Iranian nuclear program and expects concrete results in the future.
Earlier, Axios reported that the second round of U.S.-Iran negotiations could take place on April 19 in Rome. Meanwhile, Russia’s Federation Council Committee on International Affairs has supported the ratification of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with Iran, a parliamentary source told RIA Novosti. The agreement was signed during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Moscow on Jan. 17, 2025.
According to the document, the parties seek to deepen and expand relations in all areas of mutual interest, strengthen cooperation in security and defense, and closely coordinate activities at regional and global levels, which aligns with their long-term, comprehensive strategic partnership.
