If by security we mean the army, it means we have no security: Highlights from Nikol Pashinyan’s speech

Nikol Pashinyan presented the plan for the Government’s program today in the National Assembly and answered press questions. Below are the key points from his speech:

• We are closing the chapter on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict; what is the point of the Minsk Group’s activities?
• How does the return of stolen property happen? We have only returned $1 billion through the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine.
• The army is not our only and primary tool for ensuring security. If by security we mean the army, it means we have no security.
• If a new Constitution is adopted, we should discuss the introduction of the jury system.
• Vendettas must be excluded; Armenia should not become a lawless black hole on the world map.
• I suggest Baku investigate the shootings.
• I have given the Armenian army clear instructions not to violate the ceasefire regime.
