Ruben Rubinyan: We did everything to ensure residents’ safety in Artsakh

I blame the Artsakh government for failing the people’s safety in living there, Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, said during a press briefing today.

“We were doing everything to ensure the residents’ safety and the protection of their rights in Nagorno-Karabakh, but then what happened, happened,” Rubinyan stated.

He also noted that their policy was aimed at direct negotiations between representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

“Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan carried out a change of power in Artsakh. Days after the change of power, ethnic cleansing occurred, and Samvel Shahramanyan signed the document for the dissolution of Artsakh. The document for the dissolution of Nagorno-Karabakh was signed by the Artsakh government,” he said.
