Zakharova: The OSCE Minsk Group has lost its relevance and should be dissolved
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated in a press briefing that the OSCE Minsk Group has lost its relevance due to the cessation of communications with Moscow by the U.S. and French co-chairs in February 2022, Armenia’s recognition of Artsakh as an inseparable part of Azerbaijan, and changes in the situation on the ground. Therefore, all bodies of the group should be dissolved.
“We believe that the optimal way to reach a relevant decision would be a joint proposal from Baku and Yerevan regarding the dissolution of these bodies. On our part, we are ready to support our partners in overcoming the outstanding obstacles, signing a peace agreement, unblocking transport and economic routes, the process of border delimitation and demarcation, and addressing humanitarian issues based on trilateral agreements,” Zakharova said, noting that Russia is ready to provide a platform for Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations.
