Iranian president to visit Azerbaijan this week amid expanding bilateral ties
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has announced that President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit Azerbaijan this week.
“During the visit, meetings are planned amid the expanding of Iran-Azerbaijan relations,” Baghaei stated.
Earlier, Hossein Pirmoazzen, Vice President of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, said that a large delegation would arrive in Azerbaijan in preparation for Pezeshkian’s visit.
According to Pirmoazzen, the Iranian president will be joined by 110 representatives from the private sector, as well as business leaders and governors from Ardabil and four northwestern provinces of Iran. Part of the delegation is expected to arrive in Azerbaijan ahead of the president’s visit. The full delegation accompanying the president is expected to number between 110 and 120 people.
