
Zee Business: India becomes the largest arms exporter to Armenia
India has been developing its defense sector actively. Recently, the country’s defense export policy has undergone a dramatic change, abandoning earlier reluctance to sell deadly weapons.
According to a Zee Business exclusive report, India has become the largest arms exporter to Armenia. The country has exported weapons worth over Rs 23,000 crore all over the world. Most of them were imported by Armenia. As a result, Armenia has now 43 per cent ‘Make in India’ weapons.
Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jet, which Russia used to make earlier, is now Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is producing under the name Sukhoi Su-30MKI.
According to the report, the Astra missile, which is used with the Su-30, HAL can get a big order for that from Armenia.
India has also supplied Akash air defence missile systems and Pinaka multi-launch rocket systems to Armenia.
